In order to have an index for comparing a researcher's h index in a given thematic category of WoS (SU: Subject Category), compared with the 5 best Spanish researchers in each category, it has been created the CFI (Comparative Fit Index) as shown in the formula:

CFI = index h of a researcher/ average of the top 5 Spanish researchers in the category.

In the event that a researcher has an h index equal to the average of the SC, then it results a CFI of 1.
